Vancouver
One of my favorite places on earth. Great video. Also, I booked a flight to one of my other “favorite places on earth”, New York. I leave Friday. Hollar!

I love the way they did this map of New York. The photos are great as well. +1 for cool interface and +1 for cool content.
With summer amongst us, I’ve narrowed down my “to-do list” for summer 2011. From an evening at Dodger Stadium to a flight to New York, here is my list in no particular order:

Dodger Stadium
Despite giving money to the evil Frank McCourt I’ll be attending the Dodgers vs. Angels game this Friday at Dodger Stadium. I grew up an Angels fan, but Dodger Stadium remains one of my favorite places to spend a summer’s evening in Los Angeles.

J. Paul Getty Museum (The Getty)
Is there a better space in Southern California to spend an afternoon gazing off in to the distance? I’ve been told there are exhibits here as well. To be honest, I seem to gaze over the installments - as the outdoor space itself is so nice it remains pointless to spend time inside.

The Highline (New York City)
I am in the midst of a three year hiatus from New York City as I opted to vacay in Chicago most recently, but I’ve all but promised myself a trip to the city this summer.
Amongst many stops which include Di Fara Pizzeria, I particularly want to check out The High Line which recently opened a second section.
The High Line was constructed in the 1930s to lift dangerous freight trains off the streets. in 2009 a group of New Yorkers had the bright idea to turn it into a very modern breed of public park complete with wooded hillocks, stretches of lawn and even a series of art installations by acclaimed names. Pretty dope if you ask me.

Art in the Streets Exhibit
Despite the fact that it opened in April, I have yet to make a trip to The Geffen for Art in the Streets. Luckily for me, it runs through August which means I have a whole summer to schedule a day for “art and ramen” at Daikokuya (yes ramen on a warm summer day!)

BEAUTY CULTURE Exhibit
BEAUTY CULTURE provides a seminal examination of photography’s role in capturing and defining notions of modern female beauty and how these images profoundly influence our lives in both celebratory and disturbing ways. It’s on display at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City and runs through November which means I can push this one further down the list.

The Hollywood Bowl
I was fortunate enough to attend “The Bowl” twice last summer. It’s by far my most favorite place to be in all of Los Angeles. I will seriously go for any show… ANY SHOW. Much like The Getty, just being here is a reward in itself.
My plan for this summer: attend anything at the Hollywood Bowl.
